We were shopping at Kroger, and while waiting for my wife to pick out some gift cards for family members, I took my daughter to look at the toy cars. She played with a bunch of different ones, including the Mercedes and a Porsche 911. She ended up going with this one for the big purchase.
She's been playing with it ever since. I have to say I'm proud of her, and admire her taste in cars (if not colors of cars, but oh well).

Hating on red cars? That's cool.
Gullwings always looked proper in silver with the red interior, I suppose.

Nooo, I always subscribed to the "Mercedes Silver, Ferrari Red" school of thought.
I mean, both cars are fine in other colors, but they're kind of strange when swapped vice versa.

Outstanding choice on your daughter's part. Looks good in either silver or red. Hell, it'd look good in most any color.
Also, as a huge Braves fan, I love your avatar.

The 300SL is a beautiful car in any color. There's a dark brown color they come in, and I know someone who has one. I have no decent pictures of it right now (low light potato shots) but I assure you, the 300SL would look great in any casual color. Red, Brown, Light Blue, White, Black, Silver, Grey...no neons though. I'd personally repo the car and re-paint it if I saw that happen.
